Children with Cancer Project

Meet the Gorro Girls! Members of the International Women’s Club of Merida (IWC) meet twice monthly at the Merida English Library to knit and crochet beanies (“gorros”) for children with cancer.  This is an ongoing and successful program of the IWC, and miles of yarn have gone into these happy hats.

The Children with Cancer Project has blossomed, as the group provides much more than hats to the children and their families.

More about the Children with Cancer Project

The IWC Gorro Girls knitting group meets on the patio at MEL on the second and fourth Monday of each month. They are always looking for yarn … and for new hands to knit and crochet.  Don’t know how? This is a perfect time to learn from some really skilled handcrafters.
