Our club serves as an umbrella and an incubator for various interest groups. Some remain a part of the club, some branch out on their own, and some run their course. Some are for members only while others offer events that are open to the public.
Most of our interest groups in the past have included guest lecturers, engaging discussions, and field trips in the region. In 2017, one of our members, Ellyne Basto, inspired a program of providing regional tours for our members in the Mérida area, visiting neighboring pueblos and points of interest along the way. We have now completed many trips, and the Explorers Club continues to be a popular IWC activity.
Mérida has such rich surroundings, soaked in history, highlighting the Maya culture and ruins, and colonial architecture. What better way to see them and learn about them than cruising in a van with friends!
